Rariti.es
Rariti.es is a subsidiary label of Dagdy Music – an independent record label and online store specialising in unique, limited-edition music releases, primarily handcrafted Crafted CD™ editions and carefully selected collectible physical releases. Every release is created with a strong focus on quality, longevity and collectibility, offering an alternative to mass-produced industrial media.
Many of our releases are produced in small, strictly limited editions. Opening pre-orders in advance allows collectors to reserve their copy before the official release and helps avoid disappointment if the entire edition sells out on launch day.n Pre-orders are also an opportunity to receive exclusive bonuses prepared for customers who order before release. Depending on the title, these may be items available only during the pre-order period or extras that, after release, remain exclusive to our most collectible editions, such as Crafted CD™ 24K Gold.n Because much of our production and order fulfilment process is carried out by hand, pre-orders help us plan our work more efficiently and avoid production bottlenecks. They also provide valuable insight into the level of interest in a particular release, allowing us to prepare the entire publishing process more effectively.n Each pre-order product includes the expected release or shipping date. If that date changes due to circumstances beyond our control, such as production or logistics delays, we will inform our customers as soon as possible.
Every Crafted CD™ released by Rariti.es comes with a certificate of authenticity stating the album artist, album title, series, copy number, media type, as well as the first owner of the copy and a unique Hash assigned to the release. The Hash is used to add the copy to the Collection in your Rariti.es profile (unless the copy has already been added automatically at the time of purchase from the Rariti.es store – this applies primarily to copies purchased at concerts, from trusted partner distributors, as gifts, or on the collectors' market). The Collector's Certificate is an extended and more personalized version of the basic certificate of authenticity. It is printed on special paper, hand-signed, and features an embossed seal, the company stamp, and additional information about the series.
For most Rariti.es releases, we offer free pools of Bandcamp codes, usually covering half or the entirety of a series. Bandcamp codes are visible in your Collection and – if you are logged in to Bandcamp in the same browser – allow you to add the digital version of the album directly to your Bandcamp account. If you are not logged in, you can log in or register immediately after redeeming the code. You can redeem the code directly from your Collection. You can also copy the code and redeem it manually as a YUM code directly on Bandcamp.
Crafted CD™
Crafted CD™ is our proprietary approach to manufacturing physical music releases, where every disc is individually produced only after an order has been placed (with the exception of a small number of copies prepared for concerts and festivals). The resulting quality significantly exceeds that of both mass-duplicated CD-Rs and commercially pressed CDs. This is not a ready-made product taken from a warehouse shelf. Every single copy goes through an individual production process including preparation, recording, quality control and final assembly. We use only premium archival-grade recordable media designed for long-term preservation, including black-dye discs and 24-karat gold archival media. As a result, Crafted CD™ offers a lifespan that significantly exceeds both mass-produced CD-Rs and commercially pressed CDs.
Standard audio CDs are factory-pressed in large quantities, while CD-Rs are typically duplicated onto inexpensive media at very high recording speeds (most commonly 52x), resulting in a higher number of write errors and dramatically reduced longevity. Crafted CD™ is produced in short, limited production runs while maintaining the quality expected from a professionally mastered studio master disc, with meticulous attention paid to every detail. The result is a handcrafted collector's release that has far more in common with artisan craftsmanship than with either a mass-produced pressed CD or an industrially duplicated CD-R.
The production process includes: ● preparing the audio master, often including a new mastering session, ● creating a Red Book compliant Audio CD image, ● professionally recording the disc from a DDP digital master using dedicated authoring hardware at a deliberately low writing speed, ● verifying the integrity of the recording, ● assembling the release with its artwork and packaging, ● shipping it to the collector. Every single copy is produced individually.
Traditional CD pressing requires large production quantities. It is an excellent solution for mass-market releases but not always for limited collector's editions. Many exceptional recordings – especially independent music, underground releases and archival reissues – will never sell in thousands of copies. In many cases, the most important goal is simply preserving them as physical releases for a dedicated audience. Crafted CD™ makes it possible to produce professional, premium-quality editions in very small quantities without creating surplus stock that may never find its listeners and instead ends up gathering dust in storage (or, in the case of many independent labels, in the attic). Every copy is created for someone who genuinely wants to own it. At the same time, collectors receive a unique product whose quality and character simply cannot be achieved through mass production.
Because every Crafted CD™ is made individually. Preparing your order involves far more than simply taking a product from a shelf and packing it for shipment. Every copy requires media preparation, quality verification, assembly of all release components and careful packaging before dispatch. This longer production time is an inherent part of the product itself, much like other handcrafted or small-batch creations. In return, you receive a physical release prepared specifically for you – not an anonymous item manufactured on an assembly line.
Because we believe in responsible production rather than overproduction. Mass manufacturing often results in thousands of unsold copies sitting in storage for years (for many independent labels, that usually means the attic). This is especially true for niche music, where producing more copies than listeners actually need is remarkably easy. The Crafted CD™ model helps minimise unnecessary waste while preserving the exclusivity of every release. We produce only as many copies as collectors genuinely want.
We have no intention of replacing streaming – we simply offer something completely different. Streaming provides instant access to millions of recordings and remains a convenient way to discover and enjoy music. A physical release, however, offers something no digital library can replace: ● ownership of a specific individual copy, ● complete artwork and packaging, ● a tangible connection with the music, ● the joy of collecting, ● an object that becomes part of the history of a particular recording or artist. Crafted CD™ is made for people who don't just listen to music – they want to own it.
Music has always been about more than sound alone. Reel-to-reel tapes, vinyl records, later cassette tapes and CDs all created a culture of collecting. Album artwork, booklets, photographs, recording notes and the physical medium itself became part of a unique ritual. Today, when a huge portion of music exists only as a digital file or an entry in a streaming catalogue, choosing a physical release has become a conscious decision. By purchasing Crafted CD™, you receive not only the music itself, but also: ● a specific copy of a limited collector's edition, ● a genuine collectible, ● a tangible piece of the project's history, ● a product crafted with exceptional attention to detail. It's not just another file in your digital library. It's a release you can actually hold in your hands.
Crafted CD™ does not compete with mass-produced CDs on price. Its value lies in the way it is created, its quality, longevity, limited nature and the individual care devoted to every single copy. Much like an artist's book, a hand-numbered print or a limited lathe-cut vinyl record, what matters is not only the content itself, but also the form, the story and the uniqueness of the individual release.
Yes. One of the core principles of Crafted CD™ is that we do not keep large stocks of ready-made discs. Every copy is produced specifically for an individual order (with the exception of a small number of copies prepared for concerts and festivals). This allows us to maintain very small collector-oriented production runs without manufacturing unnecessary surplus.
Yes. A properly recorded Audio CD created from a professional master is a bit-perfect digital copy of the original source material. Sound quality depends on the quality of the master itself, the recording process and the equipment used – not on whether the disc was pressed or recorded.
No – because its expected lifespan is significantly longer. Conventional CD-Rs, especially those recorded at very high speeds (such as 52x), are generally estimated to last around 8-12 years. After that, write errors gradually accumulate until they exceed the correction capabilities of an increasing number of CD players. Commercially pressed CDs manufactured from a glass master are generally estimated – depending on the source – to remain reliable for somewhere between 20 and 40 years. (That said, we still own CDs manufactured in the late 1980s and, thankfully, every one of them continues to play perfectly.) For comparison, an Audio CD recorded in DAO (Disc-At-Once) mode at an optimal low writing speed using premium European archival media offers an estimated lifespan of: ● approximately 40-60 years for silver archival media, ● approximately 120-150 years for Black Edition (black-dye) media, ● approximately 250-300 years for 24K Gold Edition media, where the recording layer is protected by a 24-karat gold coating. Naturally, these figures are only estimates – and it's quite likely that none of us will live long enough to verify the last one personally.
The entire production process is based on professionally prepared audio masters and carefully controlled recording using dedicated Audio CD authoring and recording hardware. The first step is preparing the audio master, usually without the aggressive and clearly audible sound alterations often associated with many releases labelled digitally remastered. The project is then converted into a digital DDP master, from which the disc is recorded at a low writing speed onto premium archival media using specialised professional equipment. The resulting disc achieves a quality comparable to the studio master discs that artists traditionally took home after completing their recording sessions.
Yes. Crafted CD™ is prepared as a standard Audio CD and should work in both typical CD players and computer CD-ROM drives.
Editions & Production Runs
Individual releases may be available in several collector's variants: ● Silver Edition (silver archival recording layer) ● Black Edition (black-dye archival recording layer) ● 24K Gold Edition (24-karat gold archival recording layer) The availability of individual variants depends on the specific release. However, the vast majority of titles allow collectors to freely choose their preferred recording media without fixed quotas. This means that, depending entirely on collectors' choices, a production run may ultimately consist of 100 Silver Editions, 100 Black Editions, 100 24K Gold Editions – or any combination thereof.
Crafted CD™ releases are produced in limited production runs. A standard production run consists of 100 copies. Once a Batch has been completed, it is not automatically repeated. Any future Batch may be released as a separate edition with the next sequential Batch number and depends primarily on collector interest. That interest is measured largely by the number of collectors who add an out-of-stock title to their wishlist.
A Batch represents a specific production run of a particular release. Example: Batch 1 ● 100 copies available for purchase, ● sales continue until the Batch is sold out, ● once the Batch is closed, its final production history is published on the product page.
Not necessarily. Limited Crafted CD™ Batches are treated as individual collector's editions. If another Batch is produced, it will receive the next Batch number and may also differ slightly in certain production details or available variants.
Orders
Choose the release you're interested in, add it to your shopping cart, complete the checkout process and select your preferred payment and shipping methods. Once your order has been confirmed, we begin preparing your release.
Yes. You can combine multiple releases within a single order. All items will be prepared and shipped together according to the terms of that order.
Yes. You can order albums or other physical media using our „Store for Me” service. This allows you to pay only for the products themselves, without any shipping charges at the time of purchase. Combined shipping costs will be added only when you decide to close your open cart and request shipment. We simply ask that you follow the terms of the service and complete your order with shipping within 24 months of placing the first item into Storage.
Because every Crafted CD™ is produced individually, fulfilment may take longer than with standard warehouse products. The actual lead time depends on several factors, including: ● the number of discs ordered, ● our current production workload, ● the availability of packaging materials. Our goal is to keep the normal waiting time (excluding pre-orders, which always have a published shipping date) below 21 calendar days. If production demand becomes unusually high or we are temporarily affected by holiday periods, we will always publish the current lead time.
All Crafted CD™ products are made specifically for an individual order and customised according to the collector's choices (such as media type and packaging). For this reason, once an order has been placed and paid for, it cannot be cancelled. If your order has not yet been paid, you may cancel it by contacting us through our contact form. We will also cancel unpaid orders automatically if payment is not received within 10 calendar days of the order being placed. If you wish to cancel an order containing products other than Crafted CD™ before they have been shipped, simply contact us using the contact form.

For Artists
We actively search for and license releases that we believe will appeal both to us and to the collectors who shop at Rariti.es. At the same time, we certainly don't claim to know everything, and you won't find a „submissions closed!” notice here. If you appreciate what we do and would like to release your music through us – including archival recordings – we'll take that as a compliment. Simply get in touch using our contact form. Every project is considered individually. The final decision depends not only on our publishing policy but also on artistic compatibility and a variety of other factors. We can't promise anything in advance, but we'll be happy to see what might be possible.
Problems & Contact
We do everything we can to ensure that every order is carefully packed and arrives in perfect condition. However, if your product has been damaged during shipping or has a manufacturing defect, please contact us as soon as possible after receiving your order. Please include: ● your order number, ● description of the problem, ● photographs of the damaged product and packaging. This allows us to assess the situation quickly and propose the best possible solution. Since every Crafted CD™ is produced individually, each case is handled on its own merits. If the outer packaging of a courier shipment is visibly damaged, we recommend refusing delivery or completing a damage report with the courier upon receipt. If your parcel was delivered to a parcel locker, your carrier may allow you to refuse the shipment (for example by leaving it inside the locker) or to document the damage on site. If neither option is available, please take your own photographs before opening the package.
If your shipment has not arrived within the expected delivery time, first check its status using the tracking number included in your shipping confirmation email. If the tracking information has not been updated for an extended period or the parcel appears to be lost, please contact us. Please provide: ● your order number, ● the email address used for the purchase, ● your tracking number (if available). We will contact the carrier on your behalf and help clarify the situation.
If you have any questions about a particular release, its availability, edition details or the production process, please contact us before placing your order. We're happy to answer questions regarding: ● the history of a particular release, ● available editions and variants, ● package contents, ● the Crafted CD™ production process, ● estimated production times. Every release available through Rariti.es has its own story, so don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like additional information before making your purchase.
Every limited collector's edition is prepared as a complete package. If one of its components has been damaged during shipping or has a manufacturing defect, please contact us and we'll look into the available solutions. However, if you've simply changed your mind – for example, you'd like to replace a cardboard sleeve with a jewel case or another type of packaging – this unfortunately won't be possible in the vast majority of cases.
Because every Crafted CD™ is individually produced, additional photographs of your specific copy can be provided in justified cases. If you'd like to receive them, please contact us before your order is dispatched.
